There is certainly a substantial difference between drafting up an architectural plan for aesthetic design purposes and structural drafting for construction and development sites.

Both may use a drafts-man and designers, though structural drafting really requires an understanding of engineering as well as foundation structure.

Design drawings can focus on the lines, creativity, and motif of a building or site, whereas structural drafting must focus on the fundamental pillars of a project. This includes areas such as the layout, elevations, flooring and roofing, columns and of course sections.

All types of drafting are significant and necessary at times. There is beauty in bold buildings but safety and security in solid structures.
